There is a price difference between stage one Holle and the PRE as the PRE uses Lactose so that is why there is a price difference.

Holle has expanded their formulas to include a PRE starting milk, which can be used like a normal starting milk from birth.
The difference compared to Holle Stage 1 is the following:
- Holle Stage PRE contains lactose as the only carbohydrate.
- No maltodextrin.
- Conventional Holle organic milk formulas still have maltodextrin as a complex carbohydrate in the formulation as an energy supplier.
- The second subtle difference from the conventional starting pigment is the fat source. With Holle PRE, part of the fat is replaced by high-quality Demeter milk fat.
- The proportion of processed vegetable fats is lower. The vegetable fat has to be refined due to the durability. The use of milk fat directly reduces the proportion of processed vegetable oils. Thus an optimal fat composition is achieved.

This contains all the necessary nutrients the baby needs during the first six months of life. The HOLLE Bio PRE-starting milk can be fed from birth as a sole nutrition until the introduction of further food supplements. During the resting phase, the HOLLE Bio PRE is also suitable for feeding and can be given during the mixed diet until the end of the first year of life. The HOLLE Bio Startmilch PRE is easily digestible, tasty, digestible, gluten-free, wheat-free and soy-free. Conventional starting particles have vegetable oils as the source of fat. In the HOLLE Bio PRE-starting milk this vegetable fat content is reduced and replaced by high-quality Demeter milk fat. The combination of plant and milk fat provides an optimal fat composition in the initial milk. In addition, there is a difference to conventional carbohydrate combinations. The HOLLE Bio PRE starting milk is based on lactose (milk sugar) as the only carbohydrate. In the HOLLE organic starting milk made from cow or goat milk is slightly less lactose and a small amount of maltodextrin (a complex carbohydrate) is contained. Lactose as well as maltodextrin serve as energy suppliers.
